Our Commitment
At tree.co, we are committed to making a positive environmental impact. When you make a purchase, your funds are allocated to our tree planting partners, and trees are typically planted within 30-60 days of purchase (depending on seasonal conditions).
General Policy
Due to the nature of our service, we generally cannot offer refunds once a purchase has been made. However, we understand that mistakes happen, and we will consider refund requests on a case-by-case basis.
Eligible Refund Requests
You may be eligible for a refund if:
- Technical error: You were charged multiple times for the same order
- Wrong amount: You were charged a different amount than displayed
- Accidental purchase: You made a purchase by mistake and contact us within 24 hours
- Gift not delivered: A gift tree email was never delivered and we cannot resolve the issue
Request Timeframe
Refund requests must be submitted within 7 days of the purchase date. Requests submitted after this period will generally not be considered.
How to Request a Refund
- Contact our support team
- Include your order confirmation number
- Explain the reason for your refund request
- We will respond within 2 business days
Refund Processing
If your refund is approved:
- Refunds are processed to the original payment method
- Bank processing typically takes 5-10 business days
- You will receive an email confirmation when the refund is processed
Subscriptions
For subscription services:
- You can cancel your subscription at any time
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period
- We do not offer partial refunds for unused subscription periods
- Trees planted during your subscription remain planted permanently
Gift Trees
Gift tree purchases are generally non-refundable as they involve sending notifications to recipients. If a gift notification fails to deliver and we cannot resolve the issue, we may offer a refund or alternative solution.
Donations vs. Purchases
Please note that tree planting purchases are not tax-deductible donations. Tree.co is a social enterprise, not a registered charity.
Alternative Resolutions
In some cases, instead of a refund, we may offer:
- Additional trees planted to compensate for an issue
- Credit towards future purchases
- A new certificate with corrected details
