Our Mission
At tree.co, we're dedicated to global reforestation efforts, starting with our flagship projects in Madagascar and Nepal. Our mission is to restore degraded landscapes, combat climate change, and support local communities through sustainable tree planting initiatives that create lasting environmental and social impact.
We believe in the transformative power of trees to heal our planet. Each tree planted helps sequester carbon dioxide, restore biodiversity in critical ecosystems, prevent soil erosion, and provide sustainable livelihoods for local communities who serve as stewards of these renewed forests.
Through our science-based approach and community partnerships, we aim to create a greener, more sustainable future for generations to come. By working with local experts and using native species, we ensure our reforestation efforts contribute to resilient ecosystems that will thrive for decades.
Our Reforestation Projects
Madagascar Reforestation
Madagascar
Our Madagascar projects focus on restoring dry deciduous forests and mangrove ecosystems in regions like Ankilahila, Miadana, and Antanamarina. These efforts help protect Madagascar's extraordinary species while providing sustainable livelihoods for local communities facing economic challenges.
Madagascar's unique biodiversity includes over 70% endemic species that depend on these forest ecosystems. By planting at a density of 2,500 trees per hectare with carefully selected native species, we ensure robust forest regeneration that maximizes carbon sequestration and habitat restoration. Our community-led approach has created over 100 permanent jobs and trained hundreds in sustainable forestry practices.

Nepal Reforestation
Nepal
In Nepal, we're working in the Ruchang region to restore subtropical forests that have been degraded by deforestation and climate change. Our strategic reforestation efforts help prevent soil erosion, protect critical water sources for downstream communities, and provide sustainable livelihoods for local families who have traditionally depended on these forests.
Located at coordinates 27°48'17.70"N, 84°1'17.36"E, our Ruchang site spans 52 hectares of subtropical forest at elevations between 1,200-1,800 meters. We employ an average of 25 local workers year-round, with additional seasonal employment during planting seasons. Using a diverse mix of native tree species, we plant approximately 2,500 trees per hectare to create resilient forest ecosystems that support both wildlife and human needs.

How We Restore Forests
Site Selection
We carefully select degraded areas with high restoration potential, focusing on biodiversity hotspots and community needs.
Community Partnership
We partner with local communities, providing employment and training in sustainable forestry practices.
Native Planting
We plant native tree species at a density of 2,500 trees per hectare to ensure forest resilience and biodiversity.
